Our Faith Journey:
As a school of
the Catholic Church, OLSH exists to reinforce Christian values
and foster spiritual growth.
The Religious
Education Program at OLSH includes the formal lessons in
Religious Education in which we teach about the Catholic faith
as well as other faith development activities.
In the
Religious Education curriculum we study such topics as:
-
The History
and Traditions of the Catholic Church
-
Prayer and
Spirituality
-
The Bible
-
Morality
-
Jesus’ Life
and Teachings
-
Mary &
Christian Role Models
-
Social
Justice
At OLSH the
students are invited and encouraged to pray at Form Assembly,
School Assemblies and School Liturgies.
Opportunities
are also provided for students to participate in retreats and
reflection days at each Year Level. These times provide
students with the opportunity to develop their spirituality
and the chance to interact positively together, away from the
school environment.
Students are
also provided with opportunities to be involved in work for
Social Justice through such organisations and activities as:
-
St Vincent
de Paul
-
Amnesty
International
-
Project
compassion
-
